Our Team
We at Seaboard Drilling, LLC can uniquely and proactively manage projects with our in-house staff by working with our clients on the approach, cost, safety and technical aspects of their projects. Supported by well-maintained equipment and proven experience, our team is trained and focused on the safe operation of drilling rigs. In addition, each employee participates in regular training, certifications, and continuing education programs. The firm is led by Eric Baron, P.E., VP of Exploration Services. He is assisted in our Maine office by veteran Driller and former Geotechnical Engineer Kevin Hanscom. Our Massachusetts operation in Chicopee is led by veteran driller Mike Glynn, Drilling Operations Manager with assistance from Alec Hills, our Drilling Services Coordinator.
Eric Baron
Eric Baron is the Vice President of Exploration Services of Seaboard Drilling LLC. Eric attended the University of Maine at Orono where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While in college, Eric held an internship at Sanborn, Head and Associates in Concord, New Hampshire and also worked as a driller’s assistant and a driller at Capital Well in Dunbarton, New Hampshire. After receiving his bachelor’s, Eric began his professional career at GZA GeoEnvironmental in Portland, Maine. As an Assistant Project Manager, Eric was responsible for design and construction services related to geotechnical and environmental engineering projects, geotechnical analysis and design for both deep and shallow foundations, soil slope stability and rock slope evaluation and catchment design; geotechnical exploration program development and oversight; environmental monitoring for contaminated sites; and preparation of subsurface exploration and design recommendation reports. While at GZA, Eric gained a significant amount of experience working on transportation projects.
Eric joined S. W. Cole Engineering in 2015 and worked as a Geotechnical Engineer until 2018 when he joined New England Boring Contractors as the Regional Manager for Maine and New Hampshire. He joined S. W. Cole Explorations in 2020 as Drilling Operations Manager, and was promoted to Vice President of Exploration Services in 2022. In 2023, S.W. Cole Explorations merged with Seaboard Drilling and the company became Seaboard Drilling LLC. Eric has helped lead the growth of the company through two acquisitions and the merger with Seaboard Drilling.
Kevin Hanscom
Kevin is a Driller with Seaboard Drilling LLC. Seaboard Drilling LLC provides test boring exploration services and operates throughout New England from offices in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Kevin held a Class B license while working as a delivery driver for a building supply company in high school, and was familiar with drilling through his uncle’s well drilling business. He earned an A.S. in civil engineering technology and a B.S. in construction management technology.
In 1991 he joined S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. and for 24 years worked primarily as a Geotechnical Engineer, managing and providing subsurface investigations, geotechnical design, pavement management, and geotechnical specifications.
In 2015, S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. launched a test boring exploration company. Kevin Hanscom was instrumental in establishing and growing this subsidiary, serving as General Manager and Driller during the company’s first years. In 2023, the subsidiary merged with Seaboard Drilling and the company became Seaboard Drilling LLC (SEABOARD).
Since 2020 Kevin has been a Driller specializing in all forms of rotary drilling and established our Cone Penetrometer Test (CPT) capabilities. He is a NH Registered Water Well Driller, holds a Massachusetts Hoisting license, and a Class A CDL.
Michael Glynn
Michael is the Drilling Operations Manager of the Chicopee, Massachusetts office of Seaboard Drilling LLC. Mike started at Seaboard Drilling in 1999 as a Drilling Assistant and was promoted to Driller in 2003. In 2023, after the merger of S.W.COLE Explorations with Seaboard Drilling, Mike was promoted to Drilling Operations Manager. In this role, he manages projects, drill schedules and personnel for our Chicopee, Massachusetts and Riverside, Rhode Island locations.
Alec Hills
Alec Hills serves as the Drilling Services Coordinator for Seaboard Drilling and is based out of our Chicopee, Massachusetts office. His responsibilities include coordinating utility clearance, locating explorations, and supporting our drill crews and equipment mechanics. He has an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He joined Seaboard Drilling as a Drilling Assistant in October 2023 and was promoted to Drilling Services Coordinator in January 2024.
